The Dangerous Book for Demon Slayers by Angie Fox

4.0

Maybe I should have read book1 first! But I wasn't completely lost, so you can definitely read this one without the other. I don't know about the rest of the books in the series though, I will be getting to those in the future. This is a series I do want to continue to read, plus I have been wanting to read this series for a long time.
Lizzie is learning as she goes. She just recently found out she is a demon-slayer, and just found her birth grandmother-she was adopted. Grandma is a biker witch, and always on the move. Lizzie is supposed to be learning how to become a demon slayer, but since there aren't many (try hardly none)grandma is teaching her as they go.
Lizzie's boyfriend, Dimitri, is a griffin!! He is also trying to help Lizzie learn to be a slayer.
Lizzie has to learn to be a slayer and also rely on her friends and new family. Something that is very hard for her. When she goes in to get her slayer license, which was a huge surprise to her, she failed. But they gave the a permit, and a old slayer handbook. She vowed to rewrite her own handbook, although from what I could tell she never even looked at the one the Department of Intra-Magical Procedures gave her.
Angie Fox writes a very good book. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series, starting with book 1.
This book had demons, succubi, witches, ghosts and fairies. Lots of action, after all Lizzie is a demon slayer. We actually learn a little about how to be a slayer, cause Lizzie has no clue! The witches were actually kinda funny to me. But my favorite character is Lizzie's dog, Pirate. Now that Lizzie has her "powers" she can talk to Pirate. Hearing him talk is just hilarious, and probably how it would be with any other dog. Pirate sounds like a tough dog, but you have to remember that he is just a terrier, and that makes it even funnier for me.
I was provided this copy by Netgalley.
