i think i am definitely a fan what even is this wizardry his writing is so good?!? you know a book is good when it doesn’t even read like fiction anymore and this is even crazier because it’s fantasy?!? and politics which i have no interest in irl?????? the character developments AND delving into the character’s past to explain certain actions in the current time is done so well. like i feel proud of vin and elend?????? especially elend the character development is so good here - i mean tindywl is here to help him grow into a king but you can really see the growth?????? AND ORESEUR i cry
the moment i realised its not even oreseur she bonded with my goodness i love tensoon
i love how i still get to learn more about the crew even if the story’s focus is no longer on the crew. and they are all so precious?!?  breeze is officially my fave he is so precious i’m gonna cry 🥲 and even minor characters like allriane (although i have a feeling she might not be so minor) were so well written and had layers upon them sanderson is really v good at bringing his characters and stories to life omg.

for the story itself its like 90% not about the well of ascension lol it was more about political struggles and warfare (-ish i guess) and character development for vin and elend. i would have minus 0.5/1 star for that but this book is really too good i can’t bring myself to give it lower than 5 stars lol and also i don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing???
the well of ascension/ deepness etc was mentioned here and there in the story but mostly got overshadowed by the luthadel siege but it feels abit intentional actually - i think it actually helps to show that the deepness is such a big problem that is beyond the crew at the moment or at least until their leaders are ready. with that said WoA sounds abit like a filler book but then again without it i don’t think the problem of the deepness could have such a big impact at the end, or that the actions of vin or elend would feel natural.
without all the political stuff i don’t think the story would have its impact and also the growth of the characters would have been lost and probably not made the story so cohesive anymore. i think overall it can be said that everything in this book happens for a reason and even if it seems questionable when it happened the significance of it is just down the road AHAHHAHAHA

and also the plot twist?!?? had me gasping please
like miss vin trying to do good and then releasing whatever that was?!? makes me angry and surprised and gasping. and marsh my man who became bad probably the same thing that made zane ‘insane’ im sad must they make kelsier’s brother the bad guy?!?! and the whole arc with zane omg a little bit sick but also makes vin’s struggle so real?!?! and poor zane although he just a madman who doesn’t love vin but still poor thing. this is so rambly but THERES SO MANY THINGS TO SAY ABOUT THIS BOOK
