Hi, I'm Norman: The Story of American Illustrator Norman Rockwell by Robert Burleigh

4.0

Nice picture book biography of the artist Norman Rockwell, although it's ficitionalized--written as if Norman himself has invited the child reader into his studio to show them around and tell them about his life. The artwork is sensational--very realistic and done to imitate as best you can Rockwell's precise realistic style. Has a timeline, author's note, sources for further reading, and direct quotes from Rockwell's autobiography. I also liked that five of his paintings are reproduced in the back of the book, with descriptions of them, so that the reader can really appreciate them.
