Vanderbilt: The Rise and Fall of an American Dynasty by Anderson Cooper, Katherine Howe

4.0

Most everyone has heard of both Anderson Cooper and the Vanderbilt family, but some may not realize that Cooper is the son of the late Gloria Vanderbilt. This book gives background on not only his mother, but the Vanderbilt family as a whole, and how their dynasty played out through the context of American history. The juxtaposition of personal stories and historical narrative makes for an interesting read. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys personal memoirs and/or the history of the United States.
