Things We Hide From The Light by Lucy Score

4.0

‘baby, you and i both know there's something here even if you're too scared to acknowledge that.’

i actually really enjoyed this book! i was a little hesitant to go into it because a lot of people say it’s not good but i disagree!!

nash morgan, the easygoing police chief, used to be the cheerful brother until a gunshot changed everything. now dealing with panic attacks, he hides his struggles. his neighbor, lina, notices and feels a unique connection. despite lina’s no-relationship rule, the intense attraction between them sparks curiosity. with both holding secrets, they embark on a hot fling, but nash’s determination to make lina his could lead to facing past dangers.

‘you make me feel things. and after going long enough without feeling anything, feeling something--even if its anger or adrenaline--is better than the nothing.’

i literally loved this book! from the banter to the romance to the fricken slow burn it was just too good. i literally laughed and giggled so much because the banter between nash and lina was done so well. they were both grumpy people and every interaction had be cracking up! THE SLOW BURN OH MY GOD….every page and every chapter i kept saying are they going to kiss? or they FINALLY going to kiss? but nope miss lucy score waiting until chapter THIRTY-FIVE for them to kiss and i was like girl finallyyyyy. i also teared up towards the end….

‘i had good reason to do it the right way.’ ‘why’s that?’ ‘he touched you.’

this book was done so well literally loved it! buttt i didn’t have any emotional connection to the characters, the book made me tear up, laugh my head off and i really enjoyed nash and lina but i don’t know i wasn’t emotionally connected like i was in the first.

overall i really liked the writing style! again i cannot express how much this book made me laugh IN PUBLIC. i probably looked like a mad woman but it was just too funny! i really enjoyed lucy’s writing and cannot wait to read the lucian’s story!
