I felt unsettled after the first book but it did end with a bit of intrigue so I jumped straight into book 2 and I'm glad I did. While this was far more brutal than the first, the storyline was fantastic. Fast paced, nerve racking, full of mystery and suspense; I was ripping through the pages to keep up with the author. What a brilliant job she did laying out this plot, I never knew what was coming and how characters were linked until she revealed it; an impressive feat.

The ending was just excellent. I'm glad I finally got around to reading this series.

Being compared to the Hunger Games is accurate. This is straight down the line YA dystopia at its best. This series should sit alongside the Hunger Games, Divergent, Hive and Delirium.
