Satipatthana Meditation: A Practice Guide by Bhikkhu Anālayo
3.0
For me, this book is a bit dry. Probably because I'm not very interested in Satipatthana practice. The presentation of the text can be a bit hard to digest at times. Take this paragraph from page 196, for example,
The Buddha’s approach in this respect appears to have evolved
from an analysis of absorption into three types to the more
commonly found analysis into four types (Anālayo 2017c: 36ff).
I feel that this book doesn't do justice to Bhante Analayo's scholarship. His talks and videos accompanying this book are way better than the text. It's best to join one of his Satipatthana meditation retreat to get the gist of the practice.
