There Will Come a Darkness by Katy Rose Pool

4.0

Picked up on a whim, and dang am I glad I did. Great world building with nicely scattered exposition and a fun prophecy. An array of characters that you can easily invest with their own motives, personalities, concerns, places in the expansive world. The plot twist isn't a shocker, but just because you can see it coming doesn't make the narrative any less interesting. It's rewarding enough to see how the characters see things play out and how they react to the ever shifting narrative. I'm excited to see how this series continues, and Todd Boyce does a great job narrating the array of characters.
