“I would secretly give anything to be thin, while outwardly and openly rebelling against the idea that anyone should have to.”
Charlie Vega is smart, she’s kind, and she’s fat and she’s trying to be okay with that. Charlie is trying to navigate the world as a fat brown woman and she feels that’s she’s second best to everyone, including her best friend Amelia!
I loved this book so much. I related to Charlie, I was the fat kid in school, I felt second best to everyone. I could understand the point of view she experienced! I think everyone can take something away from this story. Please give it a read!
