First five star read of the year! I was absolutely blown away by this book: it's stunning; with all the elements of a great american novel. It's the first novel to evoke the expansive wilderness of America while also acknowledging and incorporating the sin of colonialism. Each line of it is poetry, subtle allegory. It's heartwrenching and inspiring and perfect. LOVED it.
