The Weaver and the Witch Queen by Genevieve Gornichec

5.0

This book has undoubtedly become my favorite read of the year. Every aspect of the book is truly wonderful, from the strong characters and intricately woven plot, to the seamless pacing, rich Norse mythology, enchanting magic system, and especially the relationships shown. This book has left an indelible impression on me, and I find myself returning to its world and characters in my mind on a regular basis. I cannot recommend it highly enough to all book lovers.

The sisterhood shared by Gunnhild, Oddny, and Signy is nothing short of extraordinary. The depth of their love and the authenticity of their connection are seen throughout the story. Their relationship added a layer of emotion and authenticity that I rarely encounter in books. I was pleasantly surprised to find that there wasn't a single aspect of this book that I didn't like, which is a testament to its remarkable storytelling. As someone who can be quite picky with my reads, this book exceeded my expectations in every way. Also, as my first delve into Norse mythology, it has opened a path for me to explore more books like this.

For an even more immersive experience, I highly recommend listening to the audiobook version as well. Nina Yndis's performance adds an extra dimension of depth to the already enthralling narrative through her dialect and pronunciation.
