Not at all the book I was expecting it to be but I think that worked pretty well. The friendships were believable, the romance was very cute, it was emotional in the right places and I enjoyed the haunting to cover up a secret thing. 
I wasn't a massive fan of how everyone seemed to blames Sal for a)not coming out to his sister and then getting annoyed at Dirk for outing him and b)not telling them about his mum, like I get being a bit hurt but he shouldn't really have had to apologise for not telling someone he's known for two months that kind of thing

Overall fun and cute and pretty cosy so a good autumn book
