Beautifully written, but I was frustrated by the characters repeating the same patterns over and over. Something bad happens (and I'll admit, these are massive traumas), and the characters react the same way- shutting down and shutting everyone else out.

Then, we end up where we began and it doesn't feel like any of the characters learned anything or had an actual arc. It did keep my attention and I read about the last third in a single sitting, but I was unsatisfied with how it ended.
