Apparently this was originally a play and I think the story would be more successful in that format. It’s hard to say how much of the writing style is original to the playwright and how much is because of translation. The concept is interesting but not very thoroughly fleshed-out (despite all the rules) and the character’s decisions/reactions to their time-traveling felt a little moralistic.
