New Spring by Robert Jordan

2.0

As usual, Jordan is good at writing, but bad at picking and choosing what to write about. If you were going to write a prequel, it should have been a no-brainer to make it about Tam and/or Lan/Moiraine's early relationship. The only reason this book gets a second star is because it does dive somewhat into the latter in the second half of the book, but the first half is just more dreary Aes Sedai nonsense, and the short overall length ultimately means that you aren't even getting much Lan.
