The Good Girl by Mary Kubica

4.0

Liked the structure. Tag-team narrators aren't new, and neither is repeated time-shifting, but blending the two added both freshness and tension.

A tad let down by the reveal. I foresaw part of the ending early on and was hoping to be surprised by something different. That said, there's enough doubt planted that the open questions still power the narrative effectively.

Confused by both the title and the cover image. Neither fits.

Another quibble (also referenced in a Kirkus review): How is the Chicago PD able to assign a detective to one case for months on end, no matter the profile?

audiobook note: Well-suited to audio, especially with understated yet elastic performances. Highly recommended for listeners.
