This book is entertaining and light, with just the right amount of scorching hot sex scenes. It’s just fun in the best kind of ways.

Second, this time a little longer, monster romance by Kate Prior I had the pleasure to read.

Once again the unique setting absolutely engrossed me; what can I say – I find the mix of supernatural creatures working a mundane (even if with a fantasy twist) office jobs fun and charming. There is just the right balance between fantasy and contemporary in this romance, and I loved it.

I know it’s probably a cliché that Khent (so a Kent, who is built like a house, wears glasses and is sort of bashful, huh? Maybe he’s a superhero too 😉), an Orc, is actually a nerdy IT guy, but I really liked that. I loved he was sort of shy and even awkward – it added so much fun and sort of tragic comedy to the whole mating ritual/meet-cute-with-a-twist he and Janice had. The idea they had to go to a OSHA meeting about the bonding ritual and being in heat with each other was absolutely hilarious to me.

There’s so much sort of cheeky humor in this series I thoroughly enjoy, but also - probably above all – pretty great romantic story. Janice and Khent have tons of chemistry; there’s so much fun banter and sweet awkwardness, when they try to balances the almost overwhelming horniness with a tentative romantic attraction.

For someone who never really read any paranormal/monster romances, and a long time ago drifted almost completely from contemporary ones, Claws & Cubicles series is a pleasant surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Orc from the Office; it was light and fun, sexy story perfect for a few hours of escapism.
