All I can say is 'Wow.' Hannah is really becoming a favorite author of mine… may be already. When I shelved this book I was hoping for the same vibes as 'Nell' (the 1994 film with Jodi Foster), and I did get something similar, but also so much more. This is a raw story about love and trauma and wildness and the cruelty of the world. I was captivated. I loved the different perspectives we got, from psychiatrist and protagonist Julie, to her sister Ellie's to the local Doctor, and even Girl/Alice's perspective plus all of these intertwining relationships and connections and storylines. I just couldn't get enough. I laughed, I cried, I felt all of the emotion. This is a must read!!! I will be thinking about these characters for a long time to come.
