Rising Darkness by Shannon Mayer

3.0

We are nearing the end of the series and boy am I thankful for that. Don't get me wrong, I've loved this series and it was a fun ride but come on, ten books, excluding the novellas is a lot. Majority of this could have been condensed into four or five books.
In Rising Darkness, Rylee must find an elemental, the Destroyer. She doesn't know who it is, what it is or where it is. But with the help of The Great Wolf she is set in the right direction. Throw in some bits where Pamella throws a big teenage tantrum and runs off and you pretty much have the book all wrapped up.
Spoiler
Okay, yeah, I liked having Liam back, but the whole, sharing a body with Faris thing is just weird and the constant back and forth of Rylee fighting her attraction to Faris was just getting annoying. Also, I was getting some serious sexual harassment vibes from three male characters towards Rylee; The Great Wolf, Griffin, Faris and Dorian all cross the line of what is appropriate and what is not. The worst part is that it is written off as meant to be funny when it clearly is not.

I'm glad we're at the end of the series now, so that it can wrap up and be done with something that has, in my opinion dragged on for way too long.
