The Midnight Hour by Benjamin Read, Laura Trinder
4.0
AHHH! This was right. up. my alley! I mean, magic and monsters and alternate words and villains and mystery. Yes yes yes!
To be quite honest, I wasn’t feeling very optimistic during the first few chapters, but then things turned out very well. So well that when I had about ten chapters left, I went searching for a kindle version or hardback copy of the sequel but couldn’t find one ):
It’s a book a normal-paced reader could easily finish in one sitting; super exciting and fast-paced. Lovable and funny characters, and the world was really well thought of.
I’m trying to read more middle grade books so I’d have a collection of books ready for my little one when she’s older, and this is DEFINITELY going on top of the list.
