update: i was genuinely in mourning after i finished this book, and couldn’t start another book because i felt i had to wait an appropriate amount of time out of respect. i’ve never taken a book death this personally or hard before.
every voice in my mind is screaming at me to not give this book 5 stars, but i feel like if a book can devastate me this much, it deserves it.still not my favorite in the series though, for obvious reasons. i am heartbroken. i NEVER cry from books, i guess i’m just heartless lol, but i cried at the end of this book. i feared something like this would happen, but every time i finished a chapter i felt relieved because no one was dead. i finally got to the last chapter and i was just so happy for jeffrey and sara and i just thought everyone was going to be safe and happy. i loved these characters so much, i don’t know what i’m going to do now.
