The Return of the King by J.R.R. Tolkien

3.0

FINALLY!!!!!
This took me nearly two months to finish and it wasn’t even that long of a book pages wise.
The third book in LOTR is significantly heavier than previous books, lots of death, lots of turmoil, lots of thoughts.
Similarly to the first two, it reads like the Bible at times in the sense there’s just so many names to keep track of. There are two separate story lines for most of the book, in which one set of characters has no idea what’s happening to the other. I’d have liked to see Gimli and Legolas get to travel together and have their happy ending, but overall I was very happy with how the ending turned out, happy that bag end got restored and the hobbits claimed back hobbiton.
