Kincaid by Marie James

3.0

I’ll start off with what I enjoyed:
Love the found family (I have a soft spot for this)
Kid, Rose, Doc ❤️
Like how he fell first and just wants to protect her
Liked the reminder how easy and quickly love can strike
Like to respect and care he has for FMC and history of abuse

Onto things I DID NOT enjoy:
How the club girls were portrayed and treated. These guys SAVE women from sex trafficking and then COMPLETELY objectify and slut shame the women they USE? Where is their chivalry in their own club?
While Bunny was a bitch, she was a person with a story and obviously had feelings for Kincade. He used her and treated her (and from the sounds of it, the rest of the club girls) as objects to get him off.

How quickly they fell. While I said above it’s a reminder of how quick love can strike, my logical brain kept going back to she was just beaten badly, she is saved by some random guy who takes her to another state. He’s the first guy to treat her well since her dad. She falls for him and it’s HEA.??!!
It was difficult for me to suspend reality and not think of the trauma they are both dealing with and the work they are going to have to do. If the timeline would have been longer, it would have been easier to believe.

Overall if you like MC and a tough guy saves the day it’s a good quick read.
