The (Other) F Word: A Celebration of the Fat and Fierce by Angie Manfredi

First of all, I am absolutely a sucker for anthologies so I knew I would enjoy this one. But it really blew me away! I loved the variety of content represented including essays, poems, and artwork.

This book felt like a hug and a reminder that my body is not just okay as it is but it is strong and capable and beautiful, no matter it's size. I loved that this collection spanned different genres and thoughts and perspectives but was so dang affirming and kind it was really lovely. I think this book provides support and love for folks with fat bodies but it also provides insight into the experience of living in a fat body for those who don't have the experience.

Also I really loved the included bios for each author after their piece!

Some of my favorite sections were:
  • "Fatness & Horror: The Match Made in Not Heaven" by Hillary Monahan
  • "Chubby City Indian" by Jana Schmeiding
  • "How to Be the Star of Your Own Fat Rom-Com" by Lily Anderson
