The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata
5.0
The Plot
Vanessa has been the assistant to Aiden Graves, a top defensive end, for the past several years. And she's finally quit - which she shouldn't feel bad for because the job was, after all, always temporary. But when Aiden shows up asking her to come back, she's shocked. He hadn't even remembered her birthday while she was working for him. But how do you tell a big, grumpy man no?
My Thoughts
This was my first Mariana Zapata book, and omg what an introduction. I loved Vanessa and Aiden. Vanessa was a great and relatable character. I love a grumpy man who barely talks but when he does ... omg. I love how we can see his love for Vanessa grow throughout the book and that his actions reflect that. Their lack of communication at times was frustrating but I can understand with Vanessa's past and obviously the plot of the book. Y'all should totally read this.
