Disgraced reporter Mikael Blomvkist is hired by the industrialist family Patriarch Vanger to investigate the mysterious disappearance of his young niece Harriot in 1966. He enlists the help of P.I Salander, a girl with a past she refuses to revisit, and they uncover more than they're able to handle.

This was really slow to start, but it was mostly to get through the complicated exposition needed in order for the rest of the book to make sense. It was just frustrating that no real plot showed up until halfway through the book. I definitely did not expect how wild it was going to get towards the end. And the graphic descriptions was more than I was anticipating.

TW: Rape, stalking, kidnapping, animal violence.
