In the Country We Love: My Family Divided by Diane Guerrero

5.0

I am in awe of Diane! She went through so much and I feel like she only just pushed through to the entertainment business recently! Even though this book has been out for a little while now. I really sympathized with her through her dark moments and cheered her on at her best. She also gave great information at the very end, talking about Obama’s then Immigrant Reform. What really stuck with me was when she said that migrant workers being deported impacts us all, even if we don’t realize it.
This had to have been such a scary story to put out in the world, but I’m so glad she did. It’s obvious that she has had an impact on so many people, especially younger women and girls who may be in the same situation she was.
