The Jump by Brittney Morris

Did not finish book. Stopped at 50%.
DNF - I got the gist of the book pretty fast and while it is really fast paced, I could tell that the characters weren’t going to get any deeper so I couldn’t stay invested.  This is an identity-forward, social justice oriented book, but those aspects seemed performative/shallow rather than intrinsic to the story or the growth of any of the characters.  That said, I think a middle grade reader okay with some profanity and who likes straightforward gamified plots might really love this one, preparing them for Little Brother by Cory Doctorow, a better executed novel with the same themes (just maybe too old tech wise)
