A big disappointment. The ending was dumb, I skimmed through the final 15% of this because I was just fed up of how stupid it all was. The resolution to the conflict was so dumb like I literally cannot stress this enough!!! IT WAS SO SILLY BUT NOT IN A FUN WAY, IN A LIKE WOW IS THIS AUTHOR BEING SO FR RN??!! WAY. I hate to be a hater, especially with the rating already being so low for a book but bro :((( it stank :(((.

Cassie was annoying, her whole thing about being sad that ‘nobody gets my art wahhh’ was infuriating. Girl your art sounds bad… not only does it sound ugly, it also sounds so pretentious and performative.

Frederick was better than Cassie but also I can’t root for a hero in a book that reminds me of my grandad. It was all a bit icky and gross. The reason people love vampires is cos they’re cool, like in the vampire diaries or even twilight!! Frederick was decidedly uncool. And sure I understand that him being very old and very bamboozled by the 21st century was the plot of the book, but jeez! Give the guy a bit more about him than him being unaware and that being the comedy of the book.

The vampires in this book were just lame as hell!! I don’t want lame vampires!! I wouldn’t even mind if Frederick retained his personality entirely, but at least make it so he can heal fast 😭. What’s the point of the vampires if they’re gonna be worse than humans lol.

In conclusion, I wish i had kept my £2.99.
