Skin Privilege by Karin Slaughter
3.0
This was by far the best Slaughter novel that I have read so far, not only because of the ending and the twists but because of the progression of the story concerning most of the central characters in the series.
The only negative aspects for me were, firstly, the overly descriptive segments which sometimes made the plot seem a bit dense, and at times diminished the building tension. Secondly, the enormity of the crime within the novel. I would have preferred the story of Lena's family to have been at the centre, perhaps Hank's death opening questions about her mother etc but instead that was overshadowed by the role of the skinheads and corruption in the town which was described on numerous occasions as a small, dingy town, yet here it is the centre of Nazi crimes...?
