I enjoyed this - the ending made me excited to read the final instalment. It's just a solid crime series, with a more thriller edge.
I put this one off for a while because I couldn't really remember much detail of what happened in the first book, but it's following a completely different killer and does a good job or summarising the previous book whenever things from it come up. I really enjoyed the addition of Rainey.

One thing I was confused about was

the stuff with Sonnet White (the woman with the black cat tattoo). I thought maybe she'd turn out to be the accomplice. Even once it was revealed that it was the receptionist, I thought it could still have been her just with a changed appearance. I guess she was just another victim? Though not sure we got 100% confirmation on that. I definitely could be missing something here though.Then the other thing that knocked this down was
