De Profundis by Oscar Wilde

4.0

I feel like all of Wilde’s best quotes are from this short book alone.

If I understand correctly, it seems like he wrote this while in jail. He recounts the pleasures or extravagant lifestyle he lived which led to his imprisonment and his thoughts about it. He also talks about Christ and how he was a poet and a romantic. He also talks about nature and friendship. Through this book, I get a deeper understanding of who Oscar Wilde really is. He wrote this so artistically, too - like poetry or lyrics. The language was so beautiful. Would reread from time to time
