This was fun- it was a fantasy/mystery/murder mystery all wrapped into one.
The magic system was very interesting (and reminiscent of the style of All us Villains by Amanda Foodie) where the major families that hold political power control the type and amount of magic/spells being sold to the rest of the city (country??)
I think the plot twist at the end was done very nicely in that the hints were subtle and even our main POV forgot that the person was there and was never considered a suspect which was fun.
I think the world was developed really well and we were really immersed in both sides (rich vs. Poor) and how each in their own way see dangerous places to be. It kept things very exciting and our main girl being a curse breaking detective was fun to follow too. The romance wasn’t bad it just got old quickly like we knew right guys? That reveal wasn’t a reveal but still wasn’t bad and they were cute in their own way.
All in all a really fun read that will keep you on your toes
