The strength of this book was the correspondence between the two female protagonists (every other chapter for most of the book). The emails between them did a nice job of getting us into their inner worlds, in terms of the events going on in their own lives and also when it came to bigger world events or philosophical struggles they were facing. The alternating chapters that furthered the plot, though, didn’t grab my attention or invest my heartstrings as much as Normal People did.
