Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas

5.0

right now I'm dead #nice Original review posted on my blog- https://kelmacsbooks.wordpress.com/2016/03/06/queen-of-shadows-sarah-j-maas/

I put this book on hold when I finished Heir of Fire. I decided I needed a break from everything that Maas threw at me in the third book, but this book sucked me right back into the story and left me wanting so much more (even though it wasn’t a cliff hanger).

This novel was fantastic (if not a little long but thats okay I can deal with that). I thought the depth Maas went into for each character in this novel surpassed all others, and Lysandra and Nesryn were both fantastic additions! It made me so happy to see Aelin having female friends after Nehemia…

The differing dynamics in relationship between Aelin, Rowan and Aedion, and Aelin and basically everyone else are so great to read and I’m always a big fan of multiple point of views!! Also Manon!!! love love love the witches and the other angle they give to the story and the plot!!

Chaol and Dorian are really breaking my heart, especially towards the end and how much both men have been through, but to see how happy they are when it comes to Aelins happiness makes me all warm and fuzzy inside…. And I know I am never going to get enough of Aelin and Rowan, they are the absolute cutest! Also the slow buildup between Chaol and Nesryn really intrigued me and I truly hope they end up happy because it seems I’ve grown very attached to (all) of the characters…

In this novel, I found Aelin (AKA Fire Breathing Bitch Queen) to really grow and mature and it made her much more likeable and more enjoyable to read about… This novel was fast paced and extremely interesting with so much happing that I couldn’t put it down! So much love for the world Maas has created and I cannot wait for the next one!!
