Aftermath by L.A. Witt
slow-paced
- Plot- or character-driven? Character
- Loveable characters? It's complicated
- Diverse cast of characters? No
- Flaws of characters a main focus? Yes
Witt seems to have a pattern with those books (I've read Underdog before) . Two characters get into a situationship and while they act like they're in a relationship and almost immediately progress from the initial 'I can't handle more than casual' to 'I want this to be a committed relationship' you get like 250 pages of inferiority complex from both sides until they get their heads out of their asses and communicate.
Which makes books with under 350 pages just feel very long and drawn out.
There characters are sweet as pie, but boy did they annoy me.

Graphic: Chronic illness
Moderate: Ableism
