This is my favorite Murakami so far, and I didn't expect that! It was just so mundane and eerie at the same time. It's shorter, which I think is to the benefit of the book because it avoids meandering. And the framing of it from this omniscient observer perspective just really made everything feel off in the best way. Unlike everything else, I could see myself rereading this one.
