Really entertaining for the most part, but ultimately too full of opportunities to roll my eyeballs into the back of my skull. While I don’t really like romance novels at all and that’s why this scored lower for me overall, this is not a typical romance as it really tries to be more progressive in themes, characters and conflict. I did enjoy and appreciate themes of body positivity, self-love and unconditional independence even if it wasn’t executed flawlessly by the author. I loved the variety of formats employed, from blog posts to tweets to TV interviews & transcripts; this was a cool creative choice. The author writes well, even if most of her characters are obnoxious thirty-somethings gabbing online about a super problematic dating show. Overall it was an enjoyable read for the entertainment!
