This was such an interesting book, I enjoyed the way it was written. We had 6 chapters that followed a different persons perspective of the murder. I also love that it was written originally in Japanese and then translated into English. When I read the first chapter of the teacher I was pretty surprised that she put blood that had aids in the boys milk carton. From then on, it started a lot of crazy things. And the interesting part was that it all started with Shuya making the shocking purse. It's crazy that all of these characters had a strong motive for why they did what they did. Shuya wanted to have the attention of his mom. While Naoki wanted to ruin Shuyas plan. And the teacher wanted revenge for what they did to her daughter. So much happens in this book it's amazing it's this short.

I enjoyed reading this book it made me reflect a lot on our choices in life and how we are raised and treated in our environment. Shuya didn't have the life he wanted and so he sought out his mothers love. I also thought the ending was pretty mind blowing that the teacher disarmed the bomb at school and placed it in his mothers university labs. That was just insane. I couldn't understand why that happened at first but she was just so upset with them. She wanted them to feel pain so they could then become better people. Just blew my mind. I felt that some parts of this book were a little too deep and confusing for me so sometimes it made me get confused in the story. Other than that, I was interested in what would happen in the book. Everyone by the end just seemed a little sick out of their mind though. Also the fact that these are 8th grades and they are capable of all this blows my mind. Makes me feel sad for all the kids who feel this way. What an intriguing story.
