I meant to read one chapter, then accidentally read the entire book in a few hours. Whoops?

Anyway, it's fantastic.

Their descriptions of each other (Payne doing yoga?!): chef's kiss.
Their respective emotional journeys: chef's kiss.

Usually I hate when writers write about writers; it's like a circle-jerk. But I didn't mind it with Beau, and I don't know if it's because his writing wasn't really the point of the book, or if it's because his brand of writer neuroticism is so close to my own. I also greatly appreciate that no one ever tries to suggest "fixing" Beau, or even suggests a therapist or medication. He just gets to live his life, and Payne's there to support him how he needs. Not that therapy or meds are bad things, but I feel like in so many books, people suggest them to neurodiverse characters as if they're totally unique concepts that the ND character must never have heard of or thought about before. So yeah, good on this author for letting her characters just be on their own terms.
