Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky
4.0
100 pages too long but the characters are rich, the setting unforgettable, and the ethical inquiry genuine/deep. Hate to say it but Part One is the best.
Not for nothing, the blueprint for like every anti-hero in 20th-century lit and cinema.
