Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin

Did not finish book. Stopped at 75%.
This book was pretty dry to me and I didn’t enjoy it much. Once I realized that Marx dies I didn’t feel like it was worth spending another hour and a half on a book I didn’t enjoy. I hate not finishing books but this just wasn’t worth it. I really don’t understand the hype, maybe someday I’ll come back to finish but it’s doubtful. I didn’t really like any of the characters and it was depressing asf with no reason to make it worthwhile. The premise of the video game creation was the only interesting part to me.
Sadie and her professor’s relationship felt super unnecessary and toxic to me. Although I can understand that it may be difficult to leave a abusive or imbalanced power relationship, I could not stand it. I could not stand Sam for his misogyny and lack of respect for Sadie. The only slightly redeeming character was Marx and of course he died. I honestly don’t understand why this book is so popular, it felt like I was punishing myself each time I opened the book to read it.
