I was very much pleasantly surprised by this book. It initially was quite difficult to get into due to the weirdly constructed prose but after I got over it, it became far more welcoming to read.
I must give praise to the peculiar setting presented here. The combination of medieval architecture and religious traditions with grim sci-fi technology had me quite interested in the world building that’s supplied in an almost old English sort of way that has been reshaped into modern writing styles.
I’m too tired to give a through review of the characterization and dialogue so I’ll just say it was very well done.
