Gothic: An Illustrated History by Roger Luckhurst

4.0

An exploration of all the various nooks and crannies that make up the genre known as the Gothic, from its inception, to antecedents, to how it has changed over time. A very cool book. I took my time reading it. The illustrations (mostly movie stills, paintings, and artwork) made it a pretty coffee table book, but were less interesting to me than the text itself. A great resource for horror writers, for sure. (I started taking notes while I read!)
