Idk what Stephanie puts into her books but they’re always so much fun and I FLY through them, I CAN’T PUT THEM DOWN. I seriously ate this up, I had to make myself slow down so I could savor it.

Hayden and Darcy have my heart. Their story had so many of my favorite things. They have been friends since their first week of college, where they bonded over having the same favorite fantasy romance series (absolutely LOVE that Ms. Stephanie said The Northern Sword is inspired by Throne of Glass btw). Darcy started dating Hayden’s best friend that year, and stayed with him for years, despite him being a pretty shitty boyfriend. Hayden had a crush on / pined after Darcy all that time, but never crossed any lines and was always there for her as her best friend. When Darcy ends her relationship with Kit, she moves back to Vancouver and moves in with Hayden for a fresh start (I LOVE FORCED PROXIMITY/ROOMMATES).

Hayden is so so sweet and thoughtful, it truly hurt my heart to see how little he thought of himself. I loved how Darcy reassured him, built him up and helped him see what a good, kind, loving guy he is (and always has been!!!). I loved reading about how Darcy finds herself again after a relationship that didn’t appreciate her for who she is. Found family is one of my favorite tropes when it’s done right,  and I LOVE how the squad in Vancouver welcomes Darcy as one of their own, especially how quick Pippa, Hazel, and Georgia accept her as their best friend. We love to see women supporting women, and the three of them helped Darcy find confidence in herself again!

I love a boy that pines for years and years and wants what is best for our girl, whether or not that’s him. Hayden talking about how he was planning to ask Darcy out their first week of university HURT MY HEART. Major props to Alexei for pushing these two together on their weird double date with Georgia…I LOVE LOVE LOVE a possessive, jealous guy, chapters 46 and 47 are exactly what I want when it comes to jealousy.

I always enjoy a good interconnected series with solid friends and side characters; I loved reading about the evolution of both Jamie and Pippa’s, and Hazel and Rory’s relationships. I’m seriously stoked for the rest of the Vancouver Storm books..I particularly CANNOT WAIT for the marriage of convenience with Alexei and Georgia.

I will read anything and everything that Stephanie writes with a smile on my face and without a doubt, I’ll be loving every single second.
