This is totally different from D.J. MacHale's Pendragon series. I enjoyed the different worlds he created in that series.
The characters in this book are interesting and the problems they encounter are compelling. I wanted to keep reading.
I would recommend this book to readers who like horror and/or supernatural. Whereas, I call the Pendragon books an introduction to fantasy, this series isn't an introduction to horror or tales of the supernatural.
