If you like murdery heroines, unique worldbuilding, bloody magic, and chaotic teenagers trying to rule the world, then you'll love this. A quick, fun read that I'm so glad I picked up! 4.5 stars rounded up to 5 because it was such a fun romp.
What a whirlwind! This was recommended to me on bookstagram, so I downloaded the sample on Kindle and was immediately drawn in and had to buy the whole book and finish it in under 24 hours.
Emanuela's voice and her attitude and horrible decisions kept me going. I love how villainous she is even though she says all she wants is to help her people. She's so complicated and I'm here to see her ruin everything and keep ruining it until everything is completely ruined. The other characters are amazing too, and this world... I'm so intrigued and I'm fighting my instinct to jump right into the sequel to find out more about it.
