Tim Te Maro and the Subterranean Heartsick Blues by H.S. Valley

3.0

  • It’s actually pretty funny so far which I like. Just fucking love funny books dude.
  • I like how the ‘o’ in ‘Mark’ is an egg. I also find that pretty funny for some reason.
  • I like the characters so far and the banter’s pretty funny.
  • I’m almost halfway through and I feel like I haven’t actually read a lot? I don’t know if it’s just rushed or if the writing’s bigger so it looks like I’ve read more than I actually have?
  • This is supposed to be about friends with benefits but all the spicy scenes are like, glossed over and rushed. I feel like if the whole point of their relationship is going from enemies/friends with benefits to lovers, if we don’t actually see the sex scenes, and therefor pretty much their only connection to each other, I’m not gonna see the chemistry between them? Since they’ll just having random, meaningful sex off page or whatever and then they’ll suddenly care for each other? I don’t, I feel like this would’ve been better if it wasn’t ya so that it could be more explicit and actually show their relationship evolve from just sex if that makes sense. But I’m only halfway through and might change my mind, hopefully.
  • So far it’s just a really quick and easy read. It’s got some funny scenes and banter, the characters are likeable, just a fun book ig.
  • This was cute. Just a nice, easy read. I finished it quickly and I enjoyed it. It was pretty average, just a nice book.
  • The ending was sweet but could’ve been a bit, like, more I guess. The whole thing could’ve been more but it was nice for what it was.
  • So yeah, it was okay, just nothing special really. I did like it though.
