The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston
slow-paced
3.5
As someone who has experienced loss, I can embrace the MFC’s need for escapism. I think it’s well written and I enjoyed how it wrapped up in the end. My criticisms would be that I wished there were more chapters between the MFC and MMC. Also the MMC felt a tad underdeveloped and borderline bland. Ok name aside (I had to rename him Ewan), I didn’t feel like he reacted enough to the truth about the seven year time gap. Like no anger, tears or even a discussion. It was just “oh you’re back”. What?! It’s also very slow paced to the point I almost DNF’d it but happy I didn’t.
