Thousand Autumns: Qian Qiu (Novel) Vol. 1 by Meng Xi Shi

✨3.5 stars✨
This books a pretty heavy intro into the series, focusing on word building, setting the background and the politics at play. There’s also philosophy at play, mostly seen regarding Yan Wushi and Shen Qiao and their views on life and their actions.

The characters are definitely the highlight so far. There’s a delicate balance between me wanting to beat Yan Wushis ass and loving him, with a similar feeling regarding Shen Qiao due to how he’s essentially too nice most of the time. However, their outlooks on different situations as they travel together is what makes it interesting, as well as how Yan Wushi loves seeing what Shen Qiaos limit is in terms of annoying him.

Overall, it’s a bit of a slow start, but with the ending and how things have progressed so far the next book looks promising!
